Betws-y-Coed (Pronounced: Bet-tooz-er-koyd. Translated: Sanctuary in the woods) is North Wales' most popular inland resort. Surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country, this is a haven for walkers, photographers and artists, and the perfect location for that promised romantic break !
At Betws-y-Coed the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, and the beauty of the area is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges. Most famous of all are the magnificent Swallow Falls, situated where the Llugwy River hurls itself into a spectacular chasm. The village has shops, pubs and places to eat and is home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre.

The Property: Bodlondeb (Sleeps up to 11)
The name "Bodlondeb" translates from Welsh to "Peace & Tranquility" in English.
[ It is pronounced Bod-lon-deb ]
"Pentre Felin" translates to Mill Village, we are located next to the former Watermill. It is the original part of Betws-y-Coed before the A5 road was constructed and the later part of the village was developed.
A charming, 17th century, stone built cottage, supremely located in the delightful village of Betws-y-Coed, the property is the oldest house in the village and was a former Coaching Inn known as the Miners Inn.
Bodlondeb also had the first ever telephone exchange in the village.
It has been our home for the past 30 years
until we renovated and extended the adjoining former stable block and blacksmiths known as Tan-y-Foel, which is now our new home.
Bodlondeb is light and airy throughout and decorated in a traditional style, amid an inviting "home from home" atmosphere.

The house will accommodate eleven people in comfort and has been sensitively renovated to provide a pleasant bright airy interior while retaining the original character of the house.
Bodlondeb has been recently extended to provide 5 double bedrooms with two of them having superb en-suite facilities.
We have a large size cot and highchair available on request.
(Cot bedding is not provided so please remember to bring this with you (139 x 69 cm)
There is a family bathroom, a farmhouse Kitchen with a range cooker, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge and freezer and a microwave oven, along with the usual range of small appliances.
The separate dining room off the kitchen has a beamed ceiling and provides seating for ten so everyone can enjoy a meal together.
The lounge is equipped with comfortable sofas, a TV and DVD player, and a radio and CD player.
There is an Inglenook style stone fireplace with a flame effect electric fire.
The house is centrally heated by a natural gas boiler and radiators

Entrance via the large porch provides a changing and safe storage area for outdoor clothing, boots & backpacks etc, to help our guests make the most of the wonderful outdoor activities within the area.
The porch is equipped with a dehumidifier to dry outdoor clothing etc.
Please note that Bodlondeb has a no smoking policy and unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets.

There is an elevated south facing private garden.
A decked area provides seating with panoramic views of the valley and a lawn with flower and shrub borders provides a pleasant outlook.

Discover the famous Pont-y-Pair bridge, spanning the surging waters of the picturesque River Llugwy, just a stone's throw from the property on the quiet B5106 road to Gwydir Castle.
The drive has parking for three or four cars and is only a few minutes walk to the shops, pubs and restaurants in the village, without the need to use a car, just park up, relax and unwind.
Renowned as the "Gateway to Snowdonia", Betws-y-Coed provides excellent mountaineering, mountain biking, canoeing and nature watching opportunities amidst the stunning mountain range that surrounds the area, together with a good choice of shops and pubs. An ideal base for an all year round action packed or restful romantic holiday.
